ISSUE
You need an older copy of Java 7 to support legacy applications.
APPLIES TO
Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Server 2003, Server 2008, Server 2008R2, Server 2012, Server 2012R2
CAUSE
SUN has abandoned Java 7 and is currently forcing updates to Java 8.x – this version does not work with many legacy apps and may require a downgrade. You can uninstall the newer version and install one of the older copies here to use until your software is compliant with the current standards.
RESOLUTION
This article includes downloads of older Java software to be used for backward compatibility only. You should always run the latest releases whenever possible to protect your systems security.
HOW TO USE
Uninstall any previous or later versions of Java from the Control Panel/Add Remove Programs area (XP/2003) or Control Panel/Programs & Features (Vista, 2008 & Higher)
Download your choice of legacy Java archives:
- jre-7u45-windows-i586 (Java 7 Update 45 x86)
- jre-7u60-windows-i586 (Java 7 Update 60 x86)
- jre-7u80-windows-i586 (Java 7 Update 80 x86)
